HiddenCost AI ("we", "us") is operated by Mahir Kapoor, Gurugram, Haryana, India. This policy explains what we collect when you use the HiddenCost AI website, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Estimate inputs. The product category, price, usage, years of ownership and, in Pro, your PIN code, state, electricity provider and add-on choices. We use them to calculate your estimate.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting providers may log your IP address, browser type and the pages you open, for security and to keep the site running.
• Usage analytics. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site, such as clicks, scrolling and page views. Clarity may set cookies and records anonymous usage. We do not send your name or email to it.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
• Sign-in. Signing in is optional. If you choose to create an account or sign in, we store your email address and sign-in details with our authentication provider, Supabase, so you can sign in again.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, address or payment details to use the estimate. Signing in is optional, and no account is needed to use the estimate.

How we use it

• To calculate and show your estimate.
• To keep the site working and secure.
• To reply to you.

AI summary ("Explain my result")

If you ask for a plain-words summary, the figures from your estimate (amounts, years, product type) are sent to Google's Gemini service to write the wording. We do not send your name, email or PIN code for this. The summary never changes any number. If the service is unavailable we show a plain template instead.

Storage on your device

We may keep short-lived data in your browser (for example a saved summary for the current session) so the page loads faster. You can clear it from your browser settings.

Who we share it with

Our service providers only, to run the site: our hosting and infrastructure providers, Google (for the AI summary), Microsoft (Clarity, for usage analytics), Supabase (for optional sign-in), and Firecrawl (for looking up laptop product pages; no personal data is sent). We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We do not keep your estimate inputs after your session ends. Server logs and emails are kept only as long as needed for security and support.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. Email mahirkapoor04@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 18.
