What the service is
HiddenCost AI gives estimates of the total cost of owning products in India: the price, electricity, servicing, insurance and other costs over the years you choose. Estimates are for information only.
Estimates are not guarantees
- Figures come from published sources (for example government and regulator documents) and from our own stated assumptions. We show the source and date wherever we have them.
- Where we do not have a sourced figure we show "Unavailable". We do not guess.
- Real costs depend on your tariff, usage, location, the product and many other things. Your actual costs may differ, sometimes a lot.
- Estimates are not financial, legal or professional advice. Check important figures with the original source before you rely on them.
Free and Pro
The free estimate gives a quick approximate result from typical values. Pro gives a location-specific estimate using your state's electricity tariff and your own inputs. Pro is currently free during beta. We may change, limit or end Pro, or start charging for it, after giving notice on this website.
Use of the site
You agree not to misuse it: no scraping at a rate that harms the site, no attempts to break or overload it, no use that breaks the law.
Intellectual property
The site, its design, text and software belong to Mahir Kapoor or its licensors. Source documents belong to their publishers. You may use your estimate for your own purposes.
Third-party content
We link to or rely on third-party sources (regulators, utilities, publishers). We are not responsible for their content or for changes made after the date we record.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the estimates. The site is provided "as is".
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
